needless to say, I'm pretty proud of myself today:

1. I have no quarters to do laundry (plus I'm going home this weekend) so I had to get resourceful with my outfits so mini-dresses become nice little shirts. one of my better ideas of the new year.

2. I actually put on make-up and did my hair.... and then had a lot of creeper men say good morning/heeey to me on my way to/from class and work. I think this now gives me solid justification not to do my hair/make-up, right?!

3. I finally dragged my butt over to the gym to work out...and it was great! minus the fact I forgot socks and had to wear my tights as socks...awkward. 

and now I need to go prepare for my in-class debate tomorrow.

I have to argue for the privatization of water (which I'm completely against) so it should be interesting.

Kendal and I went to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo...and it was so good. I've read the books and I was impressed with how much they stuck to the storyline of the books. but oh my, I almost threw up. it was graphic folks, so prepare yourselves. it needed to be dark for sure, but do not eat right before. poor choice on my part.

I saw these quotes as I was walking home from work on Friday...I was bummed that Kendal left/J-term class sucks/work was long and then BAM! Chicago hits me with some crazy inspiration. I love the second quote. It's probably my life motto. I often forget why I love this city, and then it comes up with things like this, and I fall in love with it all over again. Thank you for a wonderful past 3 years Chi <3

Inspiration for Friday

my J-term class is killing me, and I'm definitely stressing out over it.

New Years Eve + The Saddest Day of the Year.

new years eve with the girls was lovely.

I, of course, wore a shiny/sparkly/gold dress with heels to a trailer park party.

(it was a super nice trailer park, complete with security guards.)

but still, overdressed for sure.

such a good night.

plus I got my swagger back! at least as much as a white girl like me can.

in other news, today is the saddest day of the year according to reports I've seen,

and I totally felt this.

I started my J-term class yesterday, and while it's not terrible, it's definitely not fun. 

I'm over talking about morality and how there isn't a meaning to life.

talk about depressing.

once I got home from work tonight, I fully intended to be a bum and to do absolutely nothing and just in general be lame.

but then I realized I needed to clean in anticipation for this girl's arrival tomorrow..

and if I didn't do any of that tonight, I would be setting my self up for a stressful day tomorrow.

so I got my butt moving.

and thanks to a free bulletin board from work, I was able get out of this crazy funk by making an inspiration board:

and I feel 10x better. 

all I needed was some creativity and some scissors.
