to bang or not to bang.

hair dilemmas people. (even though the title is misleading haha)

ok, so I finally got up the courage to get my haircut in chicago.
I have an irrational fear of getting a bad haircut so
I've managed to avoid new stylist for a fair amount of time.
but I also get sick of my hair real fast.

so the question is bangs or no bangs?

this would be ideal, but my hair isn't quite that long yet.

but bangs can also be time-consuming and annoying, and I'm pretty lazy when it comes to my hair.
plus, I really like this lady's hair.

just a reference, here's a picture from when I had bangs last spring

opinons? yay or nay?

things I've learned lately

too. funny.
1. scheduling interviews back-to-back for 5 days straight is the worst choice ever. also, skype interviews are officially awkward.

2. getting a positive response (and a quasi offer from New York!) is the best feeling the world.

3. this is something I've never thought I'd say on valentines day but....in one of the interviews I got asked if I was in a serious relationship and I was so pleased to say no. a seriously weird but freeing feeling.

4. listening to diseny vs. hip hop mix on 8 tracks while working out was the best choice I've made all week. but people will look at you awkwardly, especially if you don't realize your headphones aren't plugger in and everyone can hear...ooops.

5. don't get too much swagger in your walk. you will trip and fall. (trust me on this one)

6. I've got entirely too much going on, but they are all amazing opportunities like being chose to be the student speaker at Loyola's Scholarship Brunch. the pressure is good for me right?!

7. I'm entirely too excited to go to Misericordia's Valentine's Day party and to have a Galentine's Day night with ma best ladies tonight. gonna be a brawl to fight all those couples to see The Vow, but I have faith in us.

plus this lovely lady and I decided to be valentines today:

Life Lately

life lately has involved a lot of:
                                                            1.  baking (aka cookie dough filled cupcakes) yum!
and not a lot of grocery shopping.. hello grilled cheese and avocado!
it was surprisingly good!

2. making the most of these last few months at loyola and in the city
(chicago bucket list coming soon!)

oh you know, just hangin' with the jesuit order. NBD.

so ridiculous. so happy.

3. spring break planning! so far the hotels have been booked for Orlando and Daytona Beach
so all that's left is buying the 'arry potter land tickets! and geek glasses cause I definitely will need those for this trip.
I also bought a new swimsuit in anticipation for this trip...in febuary...in chicago.
people were looking at me like I was a fool! whatever, it's cute. and I don't normally like leopard print.

4. this week has involved a lot of straight up slummin' outfits.
those jeans are actually capris.
uuuuuh creative right?!

5. Galentine's Day!
(please tell me you've watched this parks and rec episode..if not, go watch it!)
if not, galintine's day=valentine's day but with your best ladies
my momma has already sent me the sweetest care package, score!
and I have plans to have a classy wine and go see The Vow night with my roommate Agnes on Tuesday...too excited! apparently the movie makes a reference to rogers park, my neighborhood, in it.

JOYOLA (aka Loyola)

ok so as of recently Loyola students have been blowing the internet up with hilariousness.
 Exhibit A:
have you seen those Sh*t (insert group of people) say videos?
YUP, loyola has one.
enjoy!
(plus, it's all so true and I know some of the people in it...even better!)

and that ryan gosling meme craze/just memes in general?
you bet we hopped on that also.
here are some of my personal favorites:

CH-CH-CHANGES!

uff-da.
so.many.things.going.on.around.here.

I turned in my applications to Episcopal Service Corps and Loretto Volunteers (finally!)
....and then I decided I wasn't going to think about it for awhile since I was getting stressed out literally 5 minutes after I turned them in.
(would I get in? what if I don't? is this the right choice? oh sh*t I really just submitted those...etc)

turns out that's not really possible.
I got my first response Monday morning at 7:30 am,
and it was positive!

fast forward to Wednesday, and I got asked to have my first interview...
and then by Friday, I have interviews scheduled with Omaha and LA (my first pick),
with the Omaha interview this Tuesday.

so much for not thinking about it huh?!

and within this whole process, I'm really questioning whether I should still apply to Iowa next year.
I'm not sure the timing is right.
I know if I get offered a position from one of these organizations, I'm going to take.
so (fingers crossed) I'd probably end up deferring Iowa, so what's the point of applying?

but I feel like this decision is deciding so much more than just next year.
I'd be choosing to leave all my friends, and I'm worried that by making this choice,
I'll be losing some of them.
I'm worried that by making this choice, I'm turning down others.
but I'm also scared to death that if I don't take this opportunity,
I'll feel like I settled, and regret it for the rest of my life.

... and I already know I have my mind pretty much made up.
scary scary scary.

but you have to go where your passion is driving you.

so Im'ma shine.

and I'm officially going on spring break trip!
with two of my best friends, jennifer and kat.
road trippin' to harry potter land, new orleans, paula dean's restaurant, and the deep south.

did anyone else see the article about how danial radcliffe admitted he was completely tanked while filming harry potter? I totally want to re-watch a bunch of the films now.
